I am on search for a good mechanic with experience working on Supras, in or around Edinburgh. I am unable to find any one with some decent experience on these Toyota models! :(

I am looking to get the following done immediately a I already got all the required parts:

1) Replace radiator + Change coolant/antifreeze

2) Replace all the bushes. Bought all the bushes i.e., lower arm, upper arm and steering rack.

3) Replace Open Diff to Supra Diff

4) Lower the car by 1.5”, fix suspension and geometry

5) Fuel lines are rusty, so needs fixing (change the ends)

Also have to get the car serviced before winter.

Any recommendations folks?

You could try Ian, of West Coast Customs dude. He did my single build. Jamsey W and Scott M have booked there's in for the 17th october for stuff being done.

Give him a shout on the phone and see what he says, 01294 222999

Only thing is he's down in Irvine, but i highly reccommend him. :D

I would say all of the bits you need doing are fairly basic so any competant garage would be able to carry out the work however if you are fussy then I would travel a bit and use Michel Lane and his mad mechanic Ian as they are about as good as it gets when it comes to Supras and are completely trustworthy and dedicated to the job.

They are in Darlington by the way and they are the only people who get their hands on my car and I live even further North but they are well worth the journey.

I had this discussion with Jamsey W not long ago. There is no where Decent in Scotland that knows there way around a Supra.

Were really at a Disadvantage up here when it comes to a good mechanic that knows what there doing. Even mapping NO ONE does it up here you can trust. Iv had to leave my 800cc injectors out, and keep the 440's in until i can get her down to Ryan for mapping.

Cray Eh.

If only we had one place in Scotland good for all the work together. It would save Members £££££ of traveling etc.

Ok Rant over. :D

Yeah tell me about it! Just lost a feking fortune for my last service £450. Took it to a jap specialist (or so it says on the website). The mechanic said the car is in good nic and need nothing and finished servicing in 3 hours. The high cost is due to the high cost of engine oil and he also tightened the hand brake and changed a tail light :( What the heck! I could not believe it! Robing bas***ds

Hypertech did my last full service, as I read a similar thread to this one back then, and they were the only name that kept cropping up again and again.

Theyre service was very good, and not overly expensive. They arent Supra experts though, he was asking me what kind of oil went into the gearbox (he ended up looking on here for the correct oil!).

This has been covered before, and much the same was said, nobody in Scotland to rival some of the English garages.

These guys are mega popular with RX7 and Honda Type-R drivers up here, and they aint far from Edinburgh:

JN Developments - Jamesy: 07548 136737 or 07912 144350

Just had my exhaust fitted by Jamesy today, and he did a great job. The system that was on there was a custom job already, so my new cat-back system didnt join up where it should. I now have a whole new exhaust from the first cat back, in lovely marine grade stainless steel.

The sound is excellent, deep and bassy with a little raspy tone to it. The best bit was the price- very reasonable compared to some other quotes I had.

Id thoroughly recommend him to anyone looking to have work done on their Supra in the Edinburgh area. :)

I live in central Edinburgh Dek, less than ideal for Supra ownership!

James was great, no hassle at all, fitted me in without being booked and end result looks and sounds excellent.
