Hello folks, steve sutcliffe from Autocar magazine here.

I'm in the process of compiling a 4p feature on how/where/from who/when/how etc to buy a Mk iv Supra. So i was wondering who the best person to speak to might be to help me compile the article. Is there a renowned expert in the south east, ideally nearish to London, who I could talk to? Or perhaps a specialist who has a decent selection of cars that we could come along and talk about/photograph?

If so could someone give me a few suggestions plus contact details. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,

I'm sure you will have a few people who are willing to help out in your area of choice if you would rather speak to them in person but if you have any questions or need help in the meantime I'm sure we'll be able to point you towards some useful info on here or answer anything you raise.

Here's hoping for a rare article that gets it all right :D

We had a member take part in a magazine article with CAR recently (and another who was in Fast Car with his chav flamethrower but we are trying to forget that) - you can read a bit more about that and see the sort of gripes people had with the article here:

There is also an extensive FAQ section on the forum that's packed with info.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The main thing I'm after is a specialist to go along to and talk to about values, reliability, pitfalls etc; someone who has several examples for sale on a forecourt that we can photograph. I'm reasonably well up on Mk iv history 'cos my old man has had a manual UK car (and loved it) for the last 9 years.

Apparently he remembers an outfit just north of East Grinstead who used to specialise in Mk iv's but can;t remember their name; any ideas who they might be, or of anyone else in southeast who i could visit?

JIC, sadly no longer trading after one of the owners came down with serious health problems IIRC (edit: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=17326).
