Stephen G
I wont be running a standalone ecu to take a pump feed off so is it ok to run the bosch off the std fuel pump ecu? Can it work ok with the changing voltage? And i just came across a old post. So what is the story with the non return valve? Is it needed or not? heckler
i dont have the pump ecu, so a 12v supply. I also have the non-return valve - all works fine
Chris Wilson
I doubt the stock pump wiring is man enough for the current draw of an 044. When I fit one to my Skyline I'll be using a heavy, relayed, dedicated supply. Ryan will know.

Wez
Mine is stock wiring upto the hanger and then new wiring from hanger to pump.
Chris Wilson
I have seen a couple of overheated (melting) plugs / sockets where the loom enters the tank assemble top. Watch for that with big pumps.

I can't quote the exact figures but the pumps run @ circa 9volts when toodling around town and then they ramp up to more than twice that voltage (circa 22v) when my foot hits the floor. Stephen G
i was just wondering is the wiring for the pump on my uk spec any heavier than the j spec as it runs a bigger pump to start with.? As for the non return valve that comes on the pump can i just put the rubber pipe onto it. I tryied looking at other posts but any i can find dont go into it very well..? RobSheffield
Mine is wired via the stock wiring, and doesnt use an NRV. In theory the NRV is only a restriction around 550-650 bhp anyway.
