Bonnet pins?

Mainly for the look

Couple of quid upwards

Can get them on ebay, demon tweeks etc

You need to drill 2 holes big enough for the pin to go through and then either screw or rivet them down usually 4 holes for that.

And than attach the 2 big pins under the bonnet somewhere where it is solid.

Or you can get the look ones thst just attach to the bonnet

Just wondered what the deal is with bonnet pins?

As in:

Is it just for that racing look?

How much are they?

Where do you get them from?

Are they easy to fit without f@#king up your bonnet?

Muchos! ;)

1. Nope, I've got them fitted for regulation reasons on the track car, and because the bonnet catch is knackered on the van:)

2. Cost me a tenner a set :)

3. Motorsport suppliers.

4. Yeah easy to fit BUT you do have to drill holes in your bonnet.

These aren't fancy aerocatch ones but rather just functional motorsport ones.

I have the aero catches, there on there as I have an aftermarket bonnet which, at above a certain speed lifts up the front, dispite having the OEM latches on

Lift?? I had the bonnet flip on me, never again! :)

I'd say if you are even slightly remotely interested in style then the el cheapo pins probably aren't for you, they are simply there to keep the bonnet down and provide fast access to the bay if required. Aerocatch ones do look much smarter but having never used them I can't comment on how well they work.
