Steve A
looks amazing mate loving the way u go from a black carpet to casually mentioning the single conversion
devan
Is it easy to die the carpet, Im guessing you just take it out and, dye it lol. Is it that simple, messy?

gaijin
Thanks.Yes,the Autoglym black dye is really easy to use.I live on a main road with no driveway;so i wanted to get the carpet dyed as quick as possible.Took everything out,it was pretty straightforward, put the carpet on the front garden and sprayed it.Took no more than 10 minutes to do and was dry just as quick. The dye will do rubber(tyres),plastic any fabric etc.Great stuff. The single conversion is bloody fantastic. The work was done by SupraSpecialistsIreland-SSI) and a great job they did.The mapping still has a wee bit to do to,but i am truly pleased with it.Sorry about the pic sizes.Try to sort it out. Thanks again

Homer
Very nice engine bay fella You need to sort out the heat shielding, that flimsy bit of tat over the exhaust housing will do feck all, it needs a blanket or coating at the every least, plus al the stuff around it like the brake and clutch lines Is that a cast mani too? Which one did you go for and did it require any fabrication for the wg to work efficiently? PS: that breather is a bit stretched on the intake, those braided lines will not like that and will quickly wear through and crack, even if they are nylon based. gaijin
Hello Homer. You can't see it clearly on the photo but there is a heavy gauge heat shield over the manifold.Bloke over here made a great job of it.Also under the ,ahem, tat cover, the turbo is heat wrapped as is the downpipe. It is a short run cast manifold, which one i dont know.It was Marty from SSI that sourced it You're right about the breather pipe.I have a longer one,but thought it was being bent when the bonnet closed. Will have another look.Your advice is appreciated.Always wondered why a screamer pipe was so called;now i know.Like a banshee being stuck with a pitch fork.I have the full spec somewhere and will post it.The low down torque is amazing.Don't have any power figures yet,as i hope to finish the mapping on a rolling road.Thinking of maybe cams and pulleys after the winter(i mean the winter winter not the summer winter)I can only say that if anyone is thinking of hybrids:don't.Wait and get a single.Do it right and you won't regret it.Thought i'd done hybrids properly, two sets later, it hammered home that they were a waste of money.Happy now(for how long-power is a lustful thing) Edited September 15, 2009 by gaijin (see edit history)
Homer
Ah, that's all good then, it wasn't easy to see the blanket under the 'tat' Only just noticed it's an auto, which removes part of the concern about heat (no clutch master ). The breather pipe should be easy to modify to ensure it's not under pressure, an aeroquip 90 degree fitting can be added, they are not cheap, but are a lot better than an split breather over a hot turbo/manifold! From what he's posted on here over the years Marty really knows his stuff so you are in good hands. Oh and I agree 100% about hybrids, an utter waste of time. If you're going to start changing turbo's, do it properly the first time PS: Marty, if you see, this which Mani and WG setup has been used? gaijin
Cheers Homer.A 90 degree bend sounds like a good idea. Thanks
