Harnesses

Has anyone got harnesses in their car? I.e. 3,4 or more point jobbies. I've got Recaro seats, and I quite fancy some for track days etc, but I'm not sure how you would mount the shoulder straps safely, as they are really supposed to be as near to horizontal as possible. I know Sparco have started selling a harness bar (see this Supraforums thread).

The other thing that puts me off is the stories about the danger of "submarining" if you don't have a crotch strap. This is where the force of you pushing on the shoulder straps in an accident causes them to pull the waist belts up so you go under them and cause serious injury. This doesn't happen with a normal seatbelt because the shoulder strap is anchored at the clip.

Anyone got any opinions etc?

Unfortunately there's no hole in the base of my seats, so nowhere for the crotch straps to go. Maybe that's a good thing for my chances of ever fathering children (not that I particularly want to!) ... :)
