speedo failiure

every now and then my speedo seems to fail then when i give her a blast she comes back to life. also my overdrive or diff light comes on and i lose my gearsk sometimes when i pull over and switch off then back on it resets. HELP ITS DOING ME NUT In!!!!!

is it just a case of warming up?

shes a gzr aerotop twin turbo auto (modded to the hilt) import

Probably nobody knew so didn't want to give you poor info. Have you used the search button? Anyway...

 

OD light is probably a code 42 and related to the speedo not working. That may not be working because f a dodgy sensor on the gearbox maybe.

 

I dont know a lot about it but it is on here if you have a search;)

That attitude will get you no where mate. :tongue:

 

For a start, the technical bods, hang out in the technical section. So this should really be in there.

 

As the above poster stated, do a search for error code 42. All speedo related issues seem to stem from dodgy speed convertors and de limiters.

 

I'd start with that, then I'd pull the dash cluster out and see if the de limiter/speed convertor is there. If it is, I'd remove it anbd go for a drive. Sure you'll be limited to 110mph, but you'll be able to eliminate the convertor as a problem.
