having recently bought my first supra i have decided that the interior could do with a bit of a facelift. I do like some of the subtle painted dash panels but think a change of steering wheel to something more modern would really help.

As sad as it sounds i really like the chunky ones toyota currently fit to things like the yaris and aygo and was wondering if anyone has fitted anything from another toyota model, if so has anyone got any pics or are they a completely different fitment

cheers

MK3 MR2 wheel will go on and look nice I believe sir, only time you might have issues is with the cruise contol stalks and associated gubbins - fairly standard fitments across the Toyota range though. Air bag plugs might be a factor too but you might not have one at the moment on a J-Spec so ignore me if that's the case :)

I've always found the Supra wheel to be too skinny and too large in diameter.

Yea, I want to get an aftermarket wheel that doesn't look chavvy, like most I've seen (sorry people).

I would love to get the wheel off my 5 series in there. That's fantastic (obviously take off the BMW badge :p)

See here for Celica Wheel:

How To:

http://www.mkivforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=3340&highlight=celica+steering

You can fit a cruise stalk or get yours working on the wheel too:

Option 1: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=425770

Option 2: http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5623053#post5623053

Option 2 is far better, as it uses the cruise stalk that is designed for that wheel and it goes on far better. I've worked out all the connections and am just waiting to source the 98' stalk before I swap the resistors - it's pretty simple if you know how to solder.

The airbag connector I managed to source from Steve Manley, but really its just joining two wires and the adaptor isn't necessary.

One further thing is that the Celica wheel won't correctly engage with the clock spring in the steering column as it's a bit too narrow at the base. You could leave it as there's enough play in the spring to cope, but I didn't like it and built up the sides of the Celica wheel's base with putty which I then baked and attached with super glue - works well. PM me if you want more info, but those are the issues you'll find.
