hey guys

since i bought the car over 2 months ago the handbrake has been playing up once in a while and not latching onto anything , so it just comes back down freely.

now only over the last few weeks it has got really bad and now just today i turned into my drive and spent (no lie) 5 minutes trying to apply it in many different ways [ANGRY][/ANGRY] but nothing.

my old man said it could be broken cable, worn shoes or loose cable.

am i right in saying even if its a loose cable it should still click into place?

also theres a funny moaning noise coming from the front passenger side wheel, when i drive at any speed, it gets louder when slow driving or quieter when driving fast. could this be related to the problem?

oh i have an auto jspec TT facelift

The ratchet on the handbrake sounds goosed. Just get a 2nd hand handbrake on here. Nothing to do with the front wheels though, maybe a bearing?
