They do this a lot in the US and it looks pretty cool so im just wondering if we do anything like this in the uk? as i've never really seen anything apart from the handling course at totb.

If there isnt anywhere that does this it would be cool to have, as regular meets could take place at an airfield with a set out track and timing gear, it would also be a much more regular and cheaper option than a track day where you are still limited to what you can do ie: drifting/sliding about. If your not sure what I mean then see the attached pic.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Yeah, 10 of the Best event has an auto-x section. They call it the 'handling' part of the contest but it is effectively an auto-x.

Sometimes auto-x and autotest get confused over here. Autotesting is like a short compact area of cones and 'parking bays' where usually lillte cars such as mini's and caterhams etc. will do a precice sequence of turns and reverse parks etc. against the clock.

The US auto-x is like the 'handling' circuits we have over here again its against the clock.
