N/A Supra mods

Hello, I am a "Newbe".

I have a 1995 N/A mk 1V and planning the following modifications.

HKS air filter.

Autobahn exhaust manifold with 3" exit.

3" decat front pipe with Magnaflow 200 cell 3" bore cat spliced in.

HKS 3" catback exhaust.

ECU remap.

Could any please tell me what bhp torque gains are to be expected from thse mods?

you will probly loose low end torque but gain high end power so id say so more than 10-20hp more max

Mmm, That's a dissapointingly small number, I was guessing it would give me around 50 horses more!

no chance with an na without nitrous or some serious money thrown at it, best thing to do is either turbo it or do a full tt swap end of

Mostly made up by the people selling them mate

I thought the ECU couldnt be remapped

who remaped the ecu as i also thought it couldnt be remaped also the hks filter is crap at filtering i got rid of mine when i took it of and looked in the pipes and throtle body there was like a mucky soil type stuff all over now i have an apexi as it came out on top for filtration

I'm sure you can remap the ecu with a piggy back, just not "chip it"

supose you could but wouldnt get you far, maybe a few horses and more effiecent map at the most. Just not worth it IMO

it's an expensive route for little gains imo, but there will be some who are happy with the n/a power from factory so if they can take it to 250bhp that wouldnt be so bad it'll be nippy enough for most of the time

HKS filters are especialy rubbish. if anything you will loose power because your sucking in hot air from the engine rather than the stock airbox sucking in fresh "cold" air. They are also particulary crap at actualy filtering anything.

Manifold - 20hp is optomistic. i would guess more like 5-10hp.

I guess the exhaust might get you 5hp (total, catback and decat).

The stock ecu cant be remapped.

Who gave you those estimates? I agree with the comment about the filter losing you bhp unless you duct it very well.

I would echo what has been said and maybe reduce the 3" decats to 2.5". Other than that, without throwing masses of cash at it you wont get any further.

I'm actually dying to see the gains you'd get from a set of BC cams for the N/A. Theres a stage 2 set thats apparently plug and play. Surely it would have to do something for the car.

After doing most of them mods myself I'd say 10hp max on all the above except the ECU remap, as it can't be done. You won't notice any gains at all, it may sound faster from the noise but more then likely it won't be as 3" straight through will make the car run rich (past experience).

Yes, the manifold is the only one likely to give you any HP increase.
