DSK Posted July 5, 2009 Share Posted July 5, 2009 (edited) Can anyone tell me, what the OE Toyota specification is for the freeplay on the accelerator cable? The garage that did my coils etc did me a favour by tightening up my accelerator cable. Whilst every minute movement/pressure makes a difference and its extremely sharp, now the car more often than not accelerates in the gear its in rather than kicking down. Also it seems to hold its revs for longer before changing up. Its only when i just fractionally reduce the pedal pressure does it instantly change up a gear. Having driven it like thsi for a couple of days, it definately feels to me like the cable needs slackening off a bit. I'm going back in a couple of days as they've said bring it in and they'll sort it, but i'd like to know what the OE free-play should be so they can adjust it to that.
