Any kit kars?

Morning all.

I have just been looking at the various kit cars or replica cars on the market, there are so many replicas built on mr2s. Got me thinking, why are there no replicas built on surpas?

Surely if you are building a car that is supposed to be a ferrari it would be better to have a supra TT engine under the bonnet than an MR2 engine?

Does anybody know of any that are built on supras?

Even if the kit includes a rolling chassis and just uses a supra as a doner car I am sure the end result would be much better....

Because the cars they copy, ferraris mainly, have mid mounted engines, much like the MR2's. I can't think of an exotic car you'd want to copy that has enough room up front to house an inline 6.

Also consider the availability of donar cars and parts....... so its easy to see why many use the ford/jaguar items.

I looked into a Cobra 427 S/C Dax replica but I wanted the TVR Cerbera 4.5 V8 linked to a more reliable g/box, ideally suspension from something like a TVR etc...

Whilst the above would have been a hell of a bespoke build I decided against it due to the complexity of having to have everything made bespoke like all the mountings etc, all this was beginning to get rather daft to say the least.
