Will a turbo kit work?

NA-T swaps don't have a great reputation on here. You'll need deep pockets to do it properly. If you don't do it properly... well, budget for a new engine in a year's time. :)

My first choice would be to sell the NA and buy a TT. If you don't want to do that (e.g. you have a very good condition NA which you've spent time and money on), then the straight engine swap from 2JZ-GE to 2JZ-GTE (with accompanying tranny swap like you said) is easily the best way to go.

My supra only has 17,000 miles on it, so it's in very good condition. Plus, it’s my inheritance so it has some sentimental value.

that would make sense to keep it and spend on it.

Have you tried contacting Garage786 and GarageWhifBitz (listed on the traders section of the website) for advice etc? May be worth dropping them n email!! ;)
