hodge
I've emptied my catch tank today and inside was a clear water like liquid which smells very petrolly. I would imagine it's just engine condensation being pulled from the engine. Is this normal. Cheers John
JamieP
Never get anything in mine but id imagine that is condensation.

michel lane
nope thats not normal , Kopite had the same problem , he had oil and petrol.. in his. Turned out the engine was down on compression on 2 cylinders and the engine rebuilt started....
hodge
I rebuilt the engine myself a couple of years ago and did a compression test in jan when I did my single conversion and got 185-190 on all cylinders so I'm not really concerned about that. I've got the car apart fitting an 25 row oil cooler and some other bits and bobs just a few safety features really before the maunal and solaris go in. Once it's back together I'll do another compression test just for piece of mind really but I'm sure it's fine. Any other reasons why it may by like this. Like jamie said I'd have thought it was just condensation.

SteveR
Jamie is yours working properly? Do you have any vacuum provision in place (e.g. catch tank exit goes to the car's air intake) or are you depending purely on postive pressure from the breather areas to expel the nasty stuff?
