j1mb0b1
I'am looking at getting a harness for the car i dont have bucket seats just a pair of normal seats, I am going to the ring in 4 weeks and want them to keep me in my seat when taking fast bends Does any harness just bolt into the supra or does it have to be a certain type like 3/4/5 point harness ? And will it work right as i dont have the slots for the belts to come over my shoulders as there not bucket seats ? i have spotted these on E bay would they be any use? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Safety-Devices-4-5-point-harnesses_W0QQitemZ160344501649QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item255546ed91&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1689%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
SteveR
You'll be held in your seats fine without the need for a harness, as long as they're not leather. Are they?
j1mb0b1
no not leather I had a track day about 3 months back and i was getting chucked all over the car when taking the bends at 100mph+, could not hold myself in !! A harness must help this a bit..
jevansio
What's that thing you can strap to your seatbelt, cylock or something like that, might be a cheaper alternative considering you only want it for a special trip to the ring
jevansio
PS if you are desperate for a harness (which holds you perfect IMHO) you'll need appropriate seats (with holes to allow the straps to pass over your shoulders, like Recaro Speeds or most aftermarket buckets). You'll need mounting points for the harnesses (rears can be done easily with eyebolts in the rear seatbelt points if you are prepared to temporarily remove the back seats & belts). The lower points are more tricky, I used the OEM front belt point with an extended eyebolt and tapped the tunnel seat mount point out to accept an eyebolt.
