Track Wheels

Hi All

I know a lot you advocate stock wheels on the supra. I'm thinking of getting a set for track and/or drag use, and wondered what the advantages are?

My 18s are 275mm wide on the back, does this give an advantage on drag strip / normal driving / or what?

I always thought wider tyres = better grip but I guess this is not always the case.

My supe came with 16" rims. I got 2 sets of 17" rims, Volks and Works, for track use. Its now a track car and I have UK spec brakes to fit.

I was going to put a wide tyre with a high profile on the stock 16" rear for drag use, if I ever get to a drag strip with it, and I was going to use the stock front rim and tyre on the back for any drifting I might get a chance to do.

As far as I'm aware the stock 16" rear rims will clear UK rears and I'm hoping the stock fronts will do likewise.
