DSK
Had teh same thing happen on my Volvo T5 but that wouldn't rev past 4,000rpm. After much intensive diagnostics etc, it turned out to be a £38 part, Control Boost Valve/Boost Control Solenoid (which ever you prefer to call it). This clips to the side of the air box on the volvo, not sure where it is located in the Supra.

trinitom
can anyone help me on this one? i have by mistake plugged the vacuum pipe in the wrong side of the waste gate vsv, could this damage the vsv? i have done the same thing on the EGVB vsv it will damage the VSV's if you plug the pipes in the wrong place? when it gets to around 3000 rpm it's like a fuel cut it doesn't past the 3000 rpm mark!
