right guys this is getting ridiculous... spent hours yesterday taking apart, checking connections, fuses, disconnect battery etc like the other posts on this suggests but still no joy.. it will lock, but won't unlock, by fob or manually.. its quite embarrassing climbing into a nice car through the boot, i'm not small so doesn't make it very easy or graceful diving head first into back seats[sHOCK][/sHOCK] ( although secretly it makes me feel like a duke of hazzard)

does anyone have any further suggestion or am i going to have to let toyota rip me off???

p.s the windows work fine!

WOOOO HOOOOO fixed it, was a loose connection on the back of the passenger lock barrel (3 small wires, lol) accidently poked it and heard doors click, removed it cleaned it then replaced and all good...

thanks for your help guys...

Sorry no video of me diving in thru boot @ sainsbury's now!!

Unless the motor was constantly pushing the lock closed due to an electrical fault.

Yeah i could see that happening but the key would still open the door for a split second before the motor pushed it back surely? I've had it with the MR2, when it had a short, where i would open the door and the central locking would instantly close it again.

I got some feedback though, so i knew it was a wiring issue and nothing mechanical. This problem is quite worrying, to me anyway. I would hate to be in an accident and not be able to get the doors open.

Unless the car has deadlocks (which I think the supra doesn't), the interior handle will always override the locking system and opens the door latch mechanism. So you should always be able to open the door from the inside.

Ahh thats not so bad then :)
