3G brakes- any one used them?

Got to place another order with GarageWhifbitz for a coil for the sake of it on Monday and was considering the 3G brakes they do. I have run a search for this but cannot find anything regarding 3G brakes and I have never heard of this brand before.

I'm interested in the following;

3G Ultimate GR 20 Groove discs

3G Ultimate RS 10 Groove & Slotted Discs

Anyone got any experience of this brand? I'm mainly concerned about the quality and reliability having never heard of the brand, so don't want to waste £500 on something that may leave me with braking issues.

Does anyone know what high quality (not outright track day pads) but good road pads like the Ferodo DS2500 (not available for the Supra to my knowledge) are available?

I am running the 3G grooved discs all round with uk callipers and endless pads and I am very happy with the set up. I am making 577bhp and they are more than adequate for stopping me on the road and I do the odd track day and have not had a problem with brake fade with this set up.

Paint the hubs now before they go all rusty and need sanding first! I painted the hubs last week as they look shocking when they get rusty and it is so much easier if you do it when they are new.

thanks for the replies, always nice to hear first hand reviews prior to taking the plunge.

good tip about painting the hub area as well, makes sense, the pictures and the dish on the wheels looks nice:cool:

Why would people choose these over Stock Toyota ones?

I have stock toyota units at the moment, which I have no issues or complaint with. However, for purely an asthetic reason I'm looking at the 3G items as mine will be due for replacement due to age soon.

Jsy_Guy - I know where you are comming from, in the past on my other cars and to date I always run stock OE discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads and have been :yahoo: with them. On my daily driver, BMW 328i I fitted a set of ATE dsics and pads, after 4.5 years the front's are only nearing their service life including the fact that the car is driven quick but not thrashed. Like I said, the Standard OE Toyota brakes are awesome and I cannot fault them.

The fact that my Supra is only used for motorway journeys on rare occasions, the wear rate isn't a big issue and just thought about it for an asthetic reason only.

At the end of the day it's your money. If it was me and it was purely for aesthetic reasons I would get the standard discs, fast road pads and spent the difference on something else.

There is loads to choose from, like hecklers interior PCB conversion, gzaerojons clear rear indicator conversion, gauges, new stereo or treat the car to a complete fluid change if she hasn't had one in a while.... :)
