I have recently had my Alpine 7876 installed in the soop but despite the fact that they have installed noise filters I am still getting a whining sound through the speakers.

The install was from a reputable dealer who I have known for a few years. He explained that the interference was due to the sheer amount of electronics in the vicinity of the head unit. He recommended a Zapco amp which has something called a line driver and USB type cable as he described it which he explained would eliminate the noise.

Can anyone recommend anything else to reduce the noise because the Zapco amp , although a high quality product isn't exactly a bargain and I'd rather put the money into an oil cooler.

Any ideas much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!:)

With only the headunit? ...no amps?

Id take it back to the place that installed it..and tell them to fix it...as i can imagine this isnt what you wanted ;)

I do this for a living myself (not in the UK needless to say :) )...and i wouldnt be especially proud of myself if i had to let an unsatisfied customer go...with unfinished busines....
