Homer
Can anyone recommend a spring compessor suitable for use with Tein suspension (or other suspension with tightly coiled springs)? All the stuff I have and have found in local shops is too bulky to get onto the spring. TIA
SUPRALOOPY
I have a thin set at the work shop I'll get some pics for you. If they are any good you can borrow them, but I'll need them back asap.
Homer
Sorry to bring this one back from the depths, but does anyone have a supplier for a suitable compressor? Dave, thanks for the offer mate, but as you're so far away the postage could well cost near a set of new/2nd hand ones
T2 MSW
Ive changed from stock to teins on both my NA and my current car and ive never used spring compressors to get the coilover in or out of the wishbone!?!?
JustGav
Was going to say, I've fitted both stock and silly low coilovers without the need of spring compressors, if you need a hand just shout.
Homer
Sorry guys, just to clarify why they're needed - the spring seats are frozen and will likely snap once I try to move them (they are currently far too high), in order to reduce the risk of injury or of the seats snapping I'd like to reduce the pressure on the seat as much as possible before using c-spanners on them. SUPRALOOPY
the offer is there and I could look at your supra for the body repairs to?
Homer
the offer is there and I could look at your supra for the body repairs to? Thanks Dave for the offer, but I'm getting skint this month (again!), would just like to get the suspension sorted and the car in a better roadworthy condition before going for the bodywork stuff (that's 2nd priority right now)
TTRickeh
I just used the standard cheapo Laser ones from Halfords on my Super Streets and I didn't have a problem.
legendswraith
If you are not desperate for them i can give you a lend of a set and pop them over at JAE. Never tried to fit them on the tiens but they can't be far off
JustGav
[cowboy]Use a ratchet strap or two on the springs?[/cowboy] Homer, if you get stuck let me know, I've got all my tools in the van from the weekend anyway and can pop over
