ToyotaGT and Ryan G have saved me, again!

I've been having some drivetrain troubles lately. It all started when I was getting a nastly clonking noise from under the car whenever I put the clutch down.

ToyotaGT diagnosed this as a knackered propshaft, so I got a replacement. I bought one from another trader, but he supplied the wrong one (one for a facelift), so I had to send it back. In the meantime, ToyotaGT observed my diff was sticking, so that needed replacing too.

At this time my car was on the ramp and not fit to drive. I was in need of a propshaft, driveshaft and diff at fairly short notice! It's Ryan G to the rescue... or "Saint", as he prefers to be known now. ;)

Not only does he source a diff at short notice, he even picks it up from the guy selling it and drives it all the way to ToyotaGT for me! What a legend.

ToyotaGT then sorted my car out in no time at all, and even swapped out the 2.5-inch section of my exhaust for some 3-inch pipe, which appears to have resolved my restriction issues and now I can hit 1.4 bar again. (Looks like another mapping session will be needed soon for that!)

ToyotaGT advise that the car geometry is now messed up on account of all the drivetrain work, and recommend I get it set up. The car was indeed behaving very strangely, shifting from side to side whenever any small load was put down.

So, I took it for 4-wheel laser alignment, and - sure enough - it was miles out. So, the guys at Merit sorted out the alignment and off I go again. But the car is all over the place, shifting from side to side again! So, back to ToyotaGT I go. They spend all afternoon diagnosing the fault, and came to the conclusion that the bolt securing the toe on the rear driver's side hadn't been done up properly by the Merit. They tighten it up, and now it handles like a dream again. And what's more, they didn't even want paying for the afternoon they spent looking at the car. They were just concerned with making sure the car was safe.

I'm always extremely satisfied whenever I deal with James or Ryan. It's so good to deal with a garage and people you can really trust.

Yeah, no one should have to settle with 500bhp at 1.2 bar. :D

Correct :D Trust me, there's a big difference between that and 1.4 bar, it's "only" 50bhp extra at the top end, but the mid range is transformed, I honestly wouldn't want more power on a daily driver!

Hope it's all finally sorted out now
