sorry maybe im of limited IQ but how does going through water cause that damage ?

piston coming up on compression stroke with all valves shut but there is water in the chamber and does not ignite. so the piston is pushing up against the water with no were to go. crankshaft forcing the conrod up and hey presto:D hope that makes sense

Bloody hell, I took my old supra through some fairly deep water without any trouble (flooded sliproad). You must have taken it through a river

Indeed I've been through 2ft of water, with it splashing over the bonnet, using the bow-wave method, with no damage.
