Potential New Owner!!

Hi guys!

Basically I currently own a Toyota MR-S, but have been offered a 1995 3.0 na Supra plus cash for my car. I think this is a really good deal for me as I thought it would have meant money going his way.

I love the looks of the Supra but how will it compare performance wise to my MR-S? Could someone provide me with the pro's and cons?

I am going to view the Supra which already has an aftermarket front bumper (not sure which, it slopes quite a lot at the front), deep dish rims and HKS induction kit. Could someone tell me what to specifically look out for?

Cheers from a (very) potential new owner!

I presume you mean MR2 instead of MR-S? :)

Whether it's a good deal or not depends on the specifics of both cars (mileage, age, condition, etc). However, that's not the question you asked.... :)

Have a look at the buyers' guide on here for things to watch out for. In case it's not mentioned in there, I would specifically look out for a poorly-functioning heater matrix (no heat into the cabin even when the car engine is warm), valve stem seals (burning oil from the exhaust), as well as all the normal things to look out for when buying any 2nd hand car.

MKIV NA ~ £3.5k tops?

Sounds roughly right. Top money might stretch to £4k if it's in really good condition. This assumes it's not a 6 speed (most manual NAs are 5 speed) and it's pre-facelift. Being either 6 speed or facelift would raise the top price a bit.

All heavily dependent on condition etc of course.
