when doing the ETTC mod, do you cut into the wires by the ecu or under the bonnet? im looking to do this myself. i dont want an ugly toggle switch on the dash so can i use some kind of rocker switch?
ive been looking at mkiv.com and it looks simple-ish to carry out. im very able with soldering iron but need to know what switch to ask for when going to maplins or similar?

Matt did mine for me and mounted the switch inside the compartment next to your left arm. I am not sure what you would call the switch but it is a simple bar effect that clicks to the left or right.

We cut the wires at the ECU. It's about an hour job, or less if you're good a scrabbling around kickwells ;)

Putting my stupid head on, I don't know what the switch is called either, but you need a two way switch. One that had 6 terminals, (3 on either side), centre pin's being common to the outside two... Does that make sense :stupid:
Or, you could use a simple on/off switch and with it to a relay using the normally closed loop for sequential mode, and open to put an earth on the VSV's for ETTC.

Hope that helps.

I need to get together the necessary bits for ETTC...

If I was to go into my local Lucas parts place and ask for a 'Double Pole, Double Throw' switch they won't just look blank at me?

Is a slide or rocker switch better? Any particular amp rating?
