Propshaft Question

This has probably been covered before.

What's the difference, if any, between the front half of the prop on an auto compares against a 5 speed or 6 speed front prop?

I've had a look on http://www.toyodiy.com and the front half of the props look identical, but then I've never been the best at gleaning information from there so I could be wrong :D

Any ideas chaps?

Auto + 6spd are the same but the first half is longer on the 6spd.

5spd drive shaft is attached with bolts in the center, not with the spline like TT's so you cant attach a 5spd prop shaft to a TT prop shaft in any way.

Here's a picture of a 6spd vs auto drive shaft. The longer (bottom one) is 6spd.

So if I have a front prop that measures 430mm is it from an auto or from a 6 speed? Odd though, as if they are different sizes I would have expected to see different part numbers on toyodit, unless it's incorrect and the EPC shows differently.

The 5 speed prop looks completely different, again from looking at toyodiy.

It depends where you measure it.

Measured like I draw on this picture, it's 47,5cm on a 6spd:

Sorry for a very slight hijack, but I have everything I need for a manual conversion just minus the gearbox my tt has a lsd , and ideally I want to keep the auto diff so if I put the 5pd box in what propshaft would I need to link up to the auto rear diff ?.
