im going to fit my new facelift front indicator/sidelights the week end but dont know wether i should cut off the extra bolt or drill a hole in the bumper and fit it properly it looks like a bit ov a pain trying to get the indicator in as the extra bolt sticks out the side. dosnt the extra bolt scratch the bumper when u push it in? some help on this 1 please.

I did this only a couple of weeks ago. I was going to cut the bolt off but then when I looked at it there didn't seem to be much holding the front of the indicator up, so I decided to make a hole instead. It's not so much a hole, more of a slit. If you push the indicator into the bumper as far as it will go, where the bolt is is where the slit needs to start. Then you basically need to drill a hole there, drill another one about an inch further into the bumper but on the same level, and then cut/drill out or whatever the gap in between. When you've finished and secured the light you can't see the slit at all and the light feels nice and firm. :)

I went as far as to cook mine in the oven and remove the horrid orange plastic from inside. Quite easy really. Then I got some silver bulbs and wired up boths halfs of the light as indicators and it looks sweet. I've got some photo's I can post up later if anyones interested.

The ones i got lastyear from titanmotorsports when i was in America didn't come with orange bits inside, and these were original toyota ones....

I know exactly how your feeling m8, i have just bought the same indicators for £74 i think from local Toyota dealership. Took one look at all the hassle involved in fitting and thought or bollocks to it.

And so decided to stick with the covers that fit over the hole and indicator

just a thought if ya like me and cant be arsed to do it

I'll do it tonight when I get home. The only photo I haven't got is with the lights on as my digi camara broke. :( But you can see how clear and sweet it looks in silver. :) Did the repeaters too.

Mawby - is there any way of removing the orange plastic from inside and fitting say a 'silver vision' bulb in there instead?
I've got a pair of these indicators/sidelights on mine and although they look better than the ugly orange blobs that were on there Im not keen on the orange inside either. I'd still like to keep the sidelights though. :conf:

OK, website updated. Click here (http://www.lee-mawby.net) and then click on the Supra link along the top, then scroll down to the bodywork modifications section. Hope it helps.

Cheers. Another tip. I found that the connector attached to the old drivers side indicator can be filed down and then attached to the smaller bulb on the passenger side. When you get it all apart you'll see what I mean. ;)
