Anyone know what size speakers the supra takes and also how do you get to them, front and rear, looks like the facia bit comes off but dont want to break it, or is it a door card job? also anyone know the best root for a 4 gauge power cable running through the car?

The fronts are puny 4" things. You gotta take the door card off to get to them. You'll wreck the grills and maybe damage the doorcard if you try and prise them off. They are mounted in their own plastic enclosure and fixed to the door frame! The rear ones are 6 odd inches and are easy to get to (although I havent tried). Just take the grill off as normal.

You can bung 6" speakers directly onto the doorcards without too much trouble for fronts. Big big improvement. You'll laugh at the size of the fronts when you get the door card off!

Not sure about the power cable though.

They are easy to get too (simply pull of the grill and there they are), but they're not easy to remove. Mine were glued so well to the mounting frame that I had to take the entire side panel off to change the little gits! That envolved taking the rear seat out access one hidden screw too. However, once you've done it once it only takes about 10 minutes to completely strip it down. It then took me nearly 20 minutes to remove one speaker from its mounting frame!

Now running 6 1/2" Focal Access front and rear - flipping superb, and a cracking price from Matt Harwood :D

Is that from your GZ? If so you have the plastic enclosures back there that makes life a lot easier. The rest of use just have a metal frame that Toyota glued the speakers to.

What kind of price roughly for a nice set of Focals front and Rear?
Mine has currently got Kenwoods in the rear and they sound awful - havent looked at the fronts yet.
Looking to replace them soonish.

I've just replaced my fronts with some Alpine components - 13 cm and a tweeter. Mid fitted into original speaker mounts (with a bit of tweaking) and I've flush mounted the tweeters in the kick panels in the footwells just like Matt H.

The speakers were £50 from Halfords...

I think the Focals were about 180 from Matt H, that was for the front component and 2 way rears.

Cheapest price on the net was about 230..........

Cool thanks guys. Thats a better price than I was expecting. I was looking at replacing them with either Rockford's or Focal's. But seeing as Focal's seem to be the most popular/preferred choice I think I will go with them. :)

Overall they are easy to fit. Once the door card is removed its plain sailing. The only annoying part is finding all the screws and clips on the door card!

I got a great deal on my front component speakers from Matt Harwood, he's your man on this board for audio stuff.

If youre going to power your speakers with just the headunit Rockford FRC's just might be one of your best bets... ;)

Another type of speaker ive tried and found to be 'worthy' for your kinda use are Infinity's Reference line....
