Electric boot release

Did the Supra ever come with one? I've found what looks like the workings of a factory electric boot release in Genna's UK spec but we can't figure out how to operate it.

Hmmm, never seen one with it. I know Graham's UK spec didn't have it, wouldn't be difficult to fit and with clifford alarms having multiple features would be a nice add on

My UK doesn't have one. Like Gav said, it's probably an extra on the car alarm.

TrickTT (Rich) installed a solenoid and wired his into the Clifford to do this.

It looks factory to me, its even wired directly into the factory loom.

That looks like a normal boot lock to me, unless I'm missing something!

Nice idea though to make it electronic off the remote.

In my defense I never open the boot from the outside so completely forgot about the key lock, and when I saw the cables connected to it I made the huuuugggeee jump from common sense to "Oh look at that it must be an electric boot release".

Oh the shame.

You have a few extra wires aswell Homer, about 25kg's worth

Yep, part of dudes clear rear light converison, tow bar wiring and fog light trickery. It's all gone now!

I do have to defend the Poor boy. We have been working 18 hours on my car so we both ache and are very tired lol. Still the inside is starting to look better and I’ve made a good start getting the paint that was splattered all over it off:)

I also managed to identify a couple of rattles from the boot which I've now fixed. The foam on this cable wasn't far enough around to stop it tapping against the body work.

But out of curiosity what are these wires for? (As these little buggers are what started me on my little electric boot release trip)

Indeed I did, which is why I couldn't work out how it had an electric release when everything looked stock. I thought it might have been a UK optional extra we didn't know about.
