bon soir

I've stuck some Pioneer 17cm speakers in the front, and although they sound much better than the stock fuji units that I took out, there still seems to be a major sound imbalance. There's a *lot* of volume from the back (more precisely it seems to be the rear left that's loud), and the front has a rather flat sound, lacking in mid range.

I've left the stock tweeters in place, and simply extended the existing wires that were going to the oem fuji units. Speakers are phased properly (front l/r - dunno about rear).

So... these new Pioneer speakers are much clearer than the oem's, but I now have fader at 130/100 (biased to the front) - i.e 30% more at the front to get a half decent sound, whereas before I had fader at 80/100 (biased to the rear, so i could get some bass).

Any tips? I wonder if there is an OEM sub in the back somewhere? I haven't looked, but it's a 94 UK TT Auto. Gonna maybe take the headlamps apart tomorrow to clear condensation and what looks like yellow moss, so I'll see if it has the GZ spec amp under seat and sub in boot.

I really should have waited and bought the Focal Access 165's from Matt but I'm a bit impulsive and the bank was shut so instead of paying my credit card off I bought the speakers.

tips greatly appreciated :)

edited: Oh yeah, my question was: are there any capacitors or other passive filters inline with the existing wires?
