Speed sensor as in the hub? If so i can't see it causing any issues other than dropping into snowmode every 5 mins lol.

Just turn off the TC and be careful if you don't have experience with TT's.

If you mean cam shaft position sensor then don't touch it.

Not 100% which ne it is. i just got told a faulty speed sensor.............hmmmmmmm s**t!

Wheel speed sensors simply tell the ABS and Traction control whats going on with the wheels. If the sensor doesn't work the ABS and TC go iffy. Nothing to worry about for driving purposes, other than stating the obvious braking and handling issues, as long as you use your melon.

If its something to do with position sensors or anything on the actual engine i would be very cautious.

The wheel speed sensor brings on the ABS warning light and the ! warning light on my car (facelift). Don't know if that helps you any.

Are you buying this car?

I cant see how it would cause engine damage, its only an electrical problem. The issue with mine was that the pink speed sensor wire to the ECU had been spliced into a turbo timer, which had consequently been removed and so the ECU was not getting the signal and was flagging up an error. Once the wire had been reconnected it resolved the problem. But I believe a faulty speed converter can cause the same problem, something to do with the ECU getting conflicting speed signals?
