You have an N/A and you are getting an ECU fitted? Why? Or is your one buggered? Or am I missing something?

A lot less to go wrong there then buddy, as i said, fingers crossed. Sorry for pissing on your chips but its through peoples misfortunes that we learn of the places not to go on here.

I'd suggest a quick search or post of where you plan to get work done in the future :)

Dear God :( People still use them?!

At least it's an NA so provided they're not opening anything it should be okay, fingers crossed.

DODGYDODDS, £5k rebuild? WTF are you having done!

EDIT - just read it's been there 8 weeks, what the feck are they doing, rebuilding it a molecule at a time?

Well i took it to them as my car on over-run, would spew out tons of smoke and use a ltr of oil in 50miles, i thought it was turbo seals, so on advice, went to interpro, afetr they looked at it, they told me that through det, my sparkplug electrode (iridium) had come off in the 5th cylinder wrecking the lining and bore, and damaged my valve guides, also bits had made it into the bottom end, so im having new pistons rods bottom end bearing, crank grind, rebore/hone head skim valve guides and vsos replaced, new oil water pump new gaskets, and arp head bolts,

(awaits to be told im being fleeced) :(

What sort of evidence did they offer to show this? Leakdown test results, compression test, the faulty plug, etc?

It might be genuine, but on the other hand you could be being ripped off.

Word of warning to anyone else, make sure the garage provides absolute evidence of an issue before commiting to work.

Interpro had a bad reputation before Jody T came onboard, maintained a reasonable one while Jody was there to manage things, but recent feedback has been extremely bad. Don't forget the mkivstore scandal :(

Out of interest, who recomended them to you? PM if you prefer. It might be of interest to the moderators.

getting an ecu fitted and car set up

An NA and getting an ECU fitted? I'm not going to comment on anything to do with where the car is going, but I'm very curious as to why an ECU is being fitted? Given some of the post I assume it isn't an NA-T job.
