Disabling stock tweeters

Is there an easy way to disable the stock tweeters? Without having to take the dash out that is :)

Can I just slip my hand up behind the dash and cut the wires? or is there a more accessible location?

I've fitted new tweeters into the kickpanel in the footwell - easy 10 minute job with a stanley knife :)
