Drag Racing is it worth removing the headlight?

Is it worth removing the headlight if you have a aftermarket cone air filter fitted to your car for drag-racing?

Will the car actually make more power/better cooling? Or will the aerodynamics be screwed up with the headlight out?

Car is fairly stock :)

I would say no point on a BPU/Stock car, they stock system is actually very good and feeding air to the right places, it does help with a big single, that benifits from a lot of forced cool air coming into the engine bay on the drivers side

When you say stock system do you mean with the airbox still in place? I have a cone filter with the two stock air feeds still in position :)

I would say no, if you wanted a good benefit you would be better with a modified headlight to have the hole through it.

My reason for thinking this is if you take out the headlight you will ruin the aerodynamics of the car. The wind resistance will skyrocket. With BPU it would probably cancel out any gains you would get from the cold air.

However, if you only make a hole in the headlight, you will get the advantage with the cold air while only causing a bit more resistance.

I think (despite having no scientific knowledge about this) I would agree with you mate.

Yes stock system, if you have removed the stock ducting then the removal of the light for a forced cool air effect may help, not a lot in it for a stock set up though I would have thought
