Heater problem (Maybe)

In the car, If i turn the heater up it dosent get hot. It just seems to blow the air inside around abit. Any ideas?

Air lock, heater matrix (is your footwell wet?), thermostat buggered.

Is it actually turned to hot?

No water inside the car. It just doesent get hot, It was working fine two hours ago

I had this happen about a month ago, one minute it was working fine, then the next blowing cold air.

Being a lazy bandit I never bothered looking into it, then last Sunday it just cleared itself after a bit of a spirited drive.

Couldn't tell you mate, as it wasn't overheating I didn't bother with it.

this has just happend to my new one. its only blowing cold air.

i have blow through the maqtrix with regulated air line and it seems its flowing fine . both in and out pipes are red hot to touch after the car has run. but the air comeing out is still cold ? no leaks inside the car either.

any other ideas?

Can you hear the mixer flap move when you adjust the temperature dial from cold to hot? Listen carefully for whirring next to the top glove compartment.

no i cant hear it , can i get to it if i remove the top box.

Is the coolant very low? Just a thought, as i stupidly wondered why my van lost heating a while back and the coolant was very very low, topped it up and been fine since

no the coolant is fine, i just put fresh coolant in and bled it after i cleand out the matrix

I can't remember if it's behind the upper or lower glove box (upper maybe), but yes if you remove those you should see the valve being opened/closed by a rod linkage when you adjust the temp control from cold to hot or vice-versa.

Im pretty sure you can see it from the top glove box

Whether or not you can get your gropers in there is a different story. I'm gonna pop out and see anyway.

This happened to me once, one of the hoses had slipped off of the IACV (cant remember the correct term now), one of the actuators though... The 2nd turbo would never spool up... and oddly, the heater wouldnt get warm either...

i had this once, was a faulty control unit, the contacts for the temp control had broken

well iv just had an influx of costomers so havent had time today. its a job for tomorrow and ill report back with what i find , thanks all

just a quicky. how on earth do the top boxes come off without them snapping?

No idea mate, I've got a gauge panel were mine used to be. I'm pretty sure it's a couple of screws though.

I'm pretty sure you need to undo the bottom one too: it hides some other screws that are still holding the top one in place.

i thaught as much. ill strip away tomorrow
