Duffman
My 2nd turbo is blown and i've managed to get hold of a 2nd hand one. No play in the shaft and the blades are all in tact...just a kind of yellow discolouring on the tips of the blades as shown in the first pic. Does this look ok to use? The 2nd pic shows the 1st turbo from the pair...it is clearly buggered
ADL Mark
That first turbo has sucked something in and chewed it up, not a good sign! The yellow isn't discolouring, it looks as though somebody has painted the blades??

Branners
I would wonder why somebody painted the blades... but fit them anyway. If they fail then they fail, you never can tell with second hand turbos just what life they had before you get them and how they were treated when they came out of the car. Most turbos are thrown to one side and left to gather spiders and dust. They then get sold on and fitted to a car and either fail really quickly or go on for years. Ian C
Speaking of spiders and dust that one with the yellow paint looks like its got all sorts of crap in it - if you do fit it make damn sure you've blasted it clean through all its holes.
