steady_dave
While fitting my new Rad Plate and Slam Plate from M4rk RZ (cheers mate they look awesome) I decided I was going to remove the bonnet sound damper. While popping the 3rd button thingy off (Yeah i'm so technically minded:blink:) the sound damper split open slightly. Stupid question but......IS THAT ASPESTOS IN THERE????????? steady_dave
I wouldn't have thought so mate I thought it was, because aspestos was used for heat insulations and stuff, also my dad was thinking the same. Thought i'd ask on here to double check before I continue!
hadyn
Yeah the buttons are supposed to melt in the event of an underbonnet fire and the aspestos bonnet lining is supposed to drop down and restrain the underbonnet fire somewhat I threw mine in the bin years ago... Paul
Is it Asbestos though? There are many other forms of fire retardant material.
