What pressure? Heater Matrix.

What pressure should I test a heater matrix at to see if it leaks? It's been done at 30psi and no leaks. I pressume it does not run with more pressure than this or am I way off the mark? One of the o rings looks like the week point so it will be replaced but I just wanted to test the matrix before putting it back in.

I know everyone says replace it whilst it is out but it is my fathers and he won't if it is not needed yet.

30 PSI is fine. You are totally MAD if you don't fit a brand new one unless he's selling the car straight after. Just pressure testing a used one is enough to weaken it and shorten its already limited life.

I could not agree more but it does appear to be an 'O' ring and judging by the waterpipe clips and various other indicators it would appear that the heater matrix has already been done in this cars life and as stated it isn't my decission as it is not my car. Thanks for the help though Chris good advice as usual.
