dani_r Posted March 1, 2009 Share Posted March 1, 2009 In reference to my previous thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=2294617&postcount=17 There was no cover over the coolant pipework and as a result (i would imagine) there is rust inside as well as a number of bugs and who knows what else. How would I get this out? Is there some way of doing a flush of the coolant system in it's current condition? I think this would need doing before the engine came out as it can be run as it is now. dani_r Posted March 2, 2009 Author Share Posted March 2, 2009 I wouldn't have the first clue what to do with something like that, and being on the IoM there's not much choice available , and I wouldn't trust many with this type of thing over here anyway. If I feed water through the top rad hose will the thermostat not stop the water from getting fully round the system? Or can this be removed? I really wouldnt worry about it now, whatever is in there its to late now, just put it in then give it a good few flushes as many times as you think. I think the best thing to do would be to get a rad on there, do some flushes and hope for the best! I just hope some little spider family hasn't decided to make it's home in there and block something up! Is this even possible?
