hadyn
Can anyone tell me what this is circled in the attached pic? I thought it was the horn, but I disconnected it today whilst fitting a cooling panel and the horn still works?? Any ideas? Does the Supra have two horns as standard? AndyT
Yep. Two horns. You have feeble "please move" tone horns. Get Nic the import pimp to get you the premium Toyota jobs £40. Other horn is in lower down.
JohnnyW
It's one of the horns, Supra has two. The 2nd one is down near the bottom of the radiator. EDIT: Damn you AndyT! P.S. Here's some before and after horn sound clips from fitting the premium kit. http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=161618&highlight=horn Edited February 19, 2009 by JohnnyW (see edit history)
hadyn
Why two, when obviously one will suffice?
AndyT
You can't seriously lead us to believe that that one of those horns is sufficient. Sorry the standard horns are a standing joke here.
Lukeyboy2k
Why two, when obviously one will suffice? They’re at ever so slightly different frequencies. This is to make the sound more “penetrative” I believe.
AndrewOW
Why two, when obviously one will suffice? You could say the same thing about turbos. I wouldn't mind one of those high power jobbies, as I've just reconnected my horn today, even though I have had my 'new' steering wheel on for months now! hadyn
Im not particularly bothered about the sound of the horn However, I did feel a bit thick as I spent ages trying to find somewhere to relocate the top horn but to no avail, in the end I just thought "feck it" and left it off. Was a nice suprise when the horn worked!
AndyT
Cool. Forgot to mention, that's a nice clean engine bay.
