decat joints

Jus a quick question if any knows the answer to this

Tried searching for this but couldnt find anything and if someone does then by all means your welcome to come slap me and call me a naughty boy:p

Basically on the NA im getting a tappety noise coming from my 1st decat on to the manifold paste was used to seal these but obviously failed.

Can i buy some new toyota oem gaskets for the 1st cat to manifold or will these be two small for my decat? decat is envy's 3" 1st decat

I could use more paste but used alot already and still not sealing

Exhaust paste will work perfectly well if the facing surfaces are sound; clean, flat and grease-free. If they aren't, it won't.

Or you can use OEM gaskets. Your choice really.

As Jake said, paste will do fine as long as joints are treated before you use it. Personally I would treat them (flat, clean etc) and use gaskets, as me and paste do not get on very well lol.

The original set up used "O" rings sat in recesses in the cat flanges, not gaskets. A properly made first de-cat pipe will have ground flat flanges of thick material. Seated against clean manifold faces, with exhaust paste as a sealant,, there should be no leakage issues.
