My supe is currently off road. The clutch started to slip it actually now will only really move in 1st/2nd gears.

I am set to book her in for a new clutch and fork out the money.

for some months previous there has been some form of high pitched whine too,

Could it be the flywheel that is buggered?

Hope not

High pitch sound is caused by release bearing - you are supposed to get one with your new clutch kit.
