thats what i did , be sure not to let any part of the light be in contact with the side of the oven though , it will melt , but other than that worked well

i used a hair dryer took a bit longer but it did the trick

Sod that, I tryed to do mine with a hairdryer and its impossible to heat it all up to prize it apart. Used the oven effort in the end and they pulled apart no problem

my oven aint big enough

Electric oven, fan assisted 170 oC. In the oven for 3 mins 30. and out immediately then pull apart. Be carefull with the fog lamp bit. It melts easily.

Hot air gun. My oven is gas so don't trust it. Must have done 8-10 like it now. Start from the inner most bottom corner (as if sat on car) and slowly heat and prise from there. I can do it in 5 mins now, less than what it takes if you put it in the oven

Bit toasty i reckon. I did mine at 80 degrees C for 10 mins and the prized apart easily. I wouldn't fancy my chances with 170 lol.

no not there its the back part where it goes into the clear front.

yep the clips help hold it in place iirc,

for every one putting in the electric oven dont set it to grill and keep a eye on it, you can over cook them

i over cooked mine made the oven smell and melted all the black parts of the lights, lense was ok though

Can be done with hairdryer - have done it on about 6 different light units, you have to make sure the hairdryer is on "hot" not the luke warm heat, and try and heat from the back (you will see like a lip the whole way around on the black part of the housing - this is where the adhesive is) you will need to concentrate on a smaller area and move along bit by bit parting the bit you just done after it has become soft enough to start seperating.

*Dont just stay on the same point for ages as this could damage the housing or worse the lens, move up and down across say a 6" stretch, then start pulling apart that section, then move around.

You will never do the whole lens in one go using the hairdryer. (it takes usually at least 2 oven sittings to remove the lens and thats with the "overall" heating oven)

The oven method is easier (have done both the hairdryer and oven "techniques") but granted is more daunting putting your light in an oven . . >
