speedo not working :(

As DB said....

Does the supra have a DSC fitted to change the speedo readout from kph to mph? If so, a broken DSC can cause the speedo and odo not to work. Does it have any error codes logged? Bear in mind the speed sensor error code (for example, the infamous code 42) *usually* is a result of faulty wiring behind the dash or a duff DSC, rather than a faulty speed sensor itself.

If the speed sensors weren't working the ecu wouldn't get a speed signal and the car wouldn't run at all. My monies on a dodgy speedo convertor.

the vss is a magnetic pick up tht will not stop the engine running as the engine runs a crank and cam shaft sensor which determines the correct time for the ecu to pulse the injectors and initiate spark.
