Amir khan
Hi all, Bought a set of clear lenses a while ago from a group buy and am in the process of putting them together. My problem is the chrome on the drivers side rings is really bad condition, so iv tried using chrome paint. but it gives a different finish and comes off with the tape when i mask the rings off!!! So iv bought another set of headlights, where the chrome is not as bad. i was thinking to do the refurb and just touch up the rings with some chrome on a brush. but i dont want it to look crap. Can anyone help me with this as i dont want to have to settle for black inserts with no chrome rings!! thanks
Guigsy
Chrome doesnt come in tins... Not good stuff anyway. Unless you pay for the rediculously expensive paint from the states.

_Shane_
I would also say ditch the chrome idea and spray them black
Amir khan
personally i find the rings look better, but if there is no way i can get that chrome back i guess i may have to settle for black. Does anyone have a pic with a car with chrome rings and one without? thanks
benkei
Could send the rings off to be chromed?? Not sure on the cost of that though and whether it's worth it?

j_jza80
If you look in my garage, my old car had refurbed lights in black without the chrome rings, and my new car is a facelift with the chrome rings. I thought it looked really well myself.
suprattgaz
i have already dug around on this one. The chrome is not chrome at all but infact aluminum plated in a vacuum. You cannot get the same finish with the "chrome" paint from Halfords. Paint the black first, then mask the black to paint the chrome. It looks OK TBH, not as reflective as the original, but unless you look for it you can't notice it really.
Amir khan
I was thinking to do that, but masking a perfect ring sounds like it will be very hard? or not??
