w41k3r
Finally had my brakes done at long last, had drilled and grooved disks put on with porterfield pads after messing around with a rear caliper all was finished. Today when painting my calipers silver i noticed the grooves on my rear disks face forward yet my grooves on the front face backwards. I take it this is not right as i thought they were ment to face forward, am i to go back to my mechanic.
T2 MSW
It depends on the manufacturer which way they face as each are designed to do a specific job. But if the disks are the same manufacturer on your car then really they should be facing in the same direction!
ilicos
Sounds like they have put the right on the left and the left on the right. I believe Grooved disks cannot be put on just any side. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. ........Actually.....I am on MKIVSupra.net, of course someone will correct me if I'm wrong!!!

T2 MSW
check with the manufacture which are wrong though, They are designed to either draw air into the groves or pass built up gases out dependent on the direction of the grooves.
