If it is stainless, keep it, if not, go black as it will go matt grey eventually YUK

It’s still the stock cover and materials (Aluminium ?) it’s just that the paint has been stripped from the perforated area and buffed I guess….

I’m not sure if they will spray it with lacquer to protect it but, will ask.

Do you think it will still fade even with a protective coating on it ?

Don't think mine is black, looks more like a treated dark colour/gunmetal?

Peter, if it's ali then left alone it'll get waterstained and not sure lacquer will do as it'll get chipped easy.

Best thing would be anodising it :)

Find somewhere to do this or have a go yourself, I just done my ali control knobs and they came out great.

All you need is: Sulphuric acid, distilled water, aluminium welding rods and a battery charger. Once anodised it'll be very hardwearing and won't stain or mark.
