Nic
Something else is causing the problem, it's not a weakness in the design of the heater matrix.
j_jza80
It could be one of the rubber seals. Did you replace these at the same time?

Absolutely Sorry to hear this, but if a stock one has packed up in such a short period there's another problem to look into.

Kev.O
Std rad cap what difference does a modified one make rob? my mate at work was telling me i might have to replace thethermostat so it releases the pressure sooner? Modified caps usually allow the system to work at a higher pressure, thus putting a strain on the whole system.

Thanks Kev, would getting a low temp Termostat help the system or not Edited January 13, 2009 by j80leo (see edit history)

Kev.O
Thanks Kev i will just change the rad cap then;)how do you tell if the thermostat is not working as it should If you remove the 45 degree pipe that the lower rad pipe goes onto (once you'rve drained the coolant out), remove the thermostat and place it in hot water and watch it move slightly. Think it's 82 degrees off the top of my head. The movement isn't much but is noticable.
