gaz1
when i had my 6 speed conversion done, the diff was changed to a manual, but how do i tell if they changed the drive shaft from auto to a manual one, and if not what effect would it have on the car,
bigbloodyturbo
I thought the auto shaft had a flange and the manual shaft had a spline? i'm probably wrong though.
supraTTger
the auto shaft will fit, but it is some inches shorter than the manual.
gaz1
but what affect on the car would it be ?
Nic
Was the complete diff casing changed or just the internals? THIS POST shows the 2 diff casing options. If you have the larger B diff fitted from an early model 6spd (the facelift 6spd uses the A diff casing), then one of the drive shafts would have been changed as it is a different length. You should be able to identify which you have if you look the underneath the back of the car.

supraspeed
the first time i had the conversion done by turbo$#@!, i think 3.5k, but then had a new 6 speed box put in and all there work redone;) was that 3.5k including the 6 speed box? ive already got a 6 speed box waiting to be put into my 5speed but i'm not really sure how much a conversion would cost without the other parts (just the hours/labour etc) i know it will be another say 6-700 for the propshaft flywheel and clutch slave cder etc
